Non-Profits Close to Our Heart…

3 Pups Bakery recognizes the following Organizations and how they have impacted the lives of our Pups. We encourage you to take some time to read a little bit about each and check out their donation needs. There are numerous Rescues, Funds and Organizations that rely on donations to help dogs across the world and as we all know, treatment for dogs can be very expensive.

Every donation regardless the amount is always greatly appreciated by any organization you choose to donate to!

Locally here in North Carolina there are several rescues that are always in need of donations so they can continue to take dogs in off the streets or from kill shelters and give them the treatment and life they deserve. Saving Grace Rescue, Red Barn Rescue, Peek Lab Rescue, Pawfect Match, Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue (just to name a few). They all have websites and social media pages. Pay them a visit and see what their needs are.

** Canine Rescue of Central PA, Inc.

Canine Rescue of Central PA, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. They are an all-volunteer group dedicated to providing assistance to dogs in helpless situations. The organization was formed in 2002 and has made tremendous progress in establishing another valuable resource for our furry friends. It is their mission to get involved in as many situations as possible to provide sanctuary, shelter, and new homes to as many dogs as they can.  When visiting their site check out the “How You Can Help” tab as there are so many ways you can make a difference. Our sweet boy Kane was adopted from this shelter when he was 3 years old.

** Zoey’s Fund

Zoey’s Fund was established in memory of Zoey, a twelve-year-old Shih-tzu who lost her battle to a rare and aggressive form of cancer. During her illness, Zoey’s family was able to keep her comfortable and extend the amount of time she had with them through the assistance and kindness of her veterinarian and other veterinary staff. Throughout the journey, it became clear that the cost of veterinary care is often out of reach for many pet parents. As a result, many pet owners who can’t afford medical care are often faced with difficult, heartbreaking decisions.

Zoey’s Fund is a fund for York County, PA residents who are facing financial struggles and who need assistance with their pet’s medical care. The fund is supported through public donations and local fundraising events.

Our boy, Kane, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma when he was 8 ½ years old. At the time he was given a 50% chance of survival as he became ill so quickly. We incurred Thousands of dollars in Veterinary Hospital bills to give Kane the best chance of survival. Our strong boy beat the odds and Zoey’s Fund contributed money towards his aftercare (routine bloodwork, etc). Although this type of cancer can be put into remission with treatment it inevitably will come back at some point because there is no permanent cure. But with treatment it has given Kane more sweet time on earth with us which we treasure every day.

When visiting their website, if you scroll down their Home Page about a quarter of the way you will see a yellow “Donate” button. This will direct you to Paypal to make your donation directly to the Fund.

** Magic Bullet Fund

Laurie Kaplan opened the Magic Bullet Fund November 20, 2005, to provide financial assistance for people who have a dog with cancer but cannot afford treatment fees.

Without the contributions of the amazing Volunteers, the fund would not be able to remain open.

Magic Bullet Fund helps people who have made room in their homes and hearts for a canine companion, but do not have the financial resources to provide cancer treatment. Every day, 10,000 dogs are diagnosed with cancer. There are many dedicated dog owners who are not financially prepared to pay the astronomical fees necessary for cancer treatment. Since 2005, Magic Bullet Fund has helped 650 dogs and their owners.

The Magic Bullet Fund is Bullet’s legacy.

If you wish to contribute, click on “Donate for a Dog” OR “Donate to Fund” when visiting their website. They are also looking for volunteers!

We were informed about this fund well after Kane’s diagnosis, but it hit home for us knowing just how much it costs to care for a dog diagnosed with cancer.
